The Kayla property is located 45 km west of the Town of Chibougamau and 1 km southwest of the Town of Chapais, in Abitibi, Quebec. It consists of 6 claims, which comprise a surface area of 95.7 hectares located in Levy Township.

The property is easily accessible using National Highway 113, which bisects the central portion of the claim group.

Various stages of exploration have been performed on the Kayla property between 1950 and 1994. From 1950 to 1956, Area Mines has carried out several exploration works (geophysical, geological and geochemical surveys) followed by diamond drilling with most significant intersections of 1.67 oz/t Ag and 0.05 oz/t Au over 0.40 ft; 16.5% Cu and 4.1% Zn over 3.00 ft; 2.04 oz/t Ag and 2.6% Pb over 1.6 ft; 3.6% Zn over 2.00 ft; 1.7% Cu over 3.6 ft and 2.7% Zn over 1.3 ft.

Several mineralized occurrences and deposits are known in the immediate area of the property. They consist of semi-massive to massive sulphide lenses (VMS type) such as the past producer of the Cooke, Perry, Robitaille, Springer Mines and the closer “8-5” massive sulphide lens (50,000 tons of 2.9% Cu; 3.38% Zn; 1.04 oz/t Ag and 0.012 oz/t Au). In the Chapais area, structure control (mainly faulting) is a dominant characteristic of most deposits. The “8-5” deposit and the Cooke gold mine are localized between the Gwillim and the Chibougamau Copper fault at or near contact between the volcanic rocks of the Blondeau Formation and the Bourbeau Sill.

On the Kayla property, the mineralization consists of at least 3 semi-massive to massive sulphide zones located at the contact between the Bourbeau Sill and the Blondeau Formation. The mineralization of these zones is disseminated to semi-massive to massive sulphides consisting of chalcopyrite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, silver and lesser amounts of marcassite, galena and gold.

Zone 1, centrally located, consists of a series of faults parallel to the northwest direction in rhyolitic tuffs of the Blondeau Formation, which are in contact with the Bourbeau Sill. Zone 1 has been partially stripped on surface and displays a mineralized zone at least 850 feet (259 m) in length with an average width of 52 feet (15.8 m). Zone 2, to the east, has a north-south contact with the Bourbeau Sill and the Blondeau rhyolitic tuffs. The sulphide zone, which consists of disseminated-stringer-pod and massive type mineralization, has been traced by diamond drilling for a minimum distance of 1,600 feet (487.7 m). The zone is approximately 40 feet (12.2 m) wide at the south end and it gradually widens to 120 feet (3.7 m) at the north end. A strong horizontal loop electromagnetic conducting axis shows that this zone extends for approximately 1,000 feet  (305 m) south. Limited outcrop exposure shows intense mineralization at surface.
